There are few scenes in American films or shows that depict gay men and straight men having conversations, in general, and even fewer conversations shown that aren’t about sexuality or sex.

So I treasure this one between a gay black police captain and his star detective, which is about friendship, mostly, but also about professional respect and comradery.
