SYNOPSIS BY QUILLBOT AI
Small-town boxer Jim is 17. He’s a golden boy preparing for a fight that will launch his career. All odds are on his success. Stan, his father, is a strict coach and alcoholic. Jim meets Whetu, a sharp-tongued, gay Maori boy who lives in an old shack with his dog Moimoi and dreams of becoming a musician. Jim and Whetu face isolation, hypocrisy, small-town boxing, and an anonymous queer bashing away from rainbow flags and Pride parades. Jim discovers that strength is not heroism as he comes to terms with being gay.
