Every week I feature a full gay movie, usually something hard-to-find or unknown. It might be a short or a documentary or it might be arty porn! Whatever I want to share that week.
The movie will stream for only a week — no repeats — so check back often.
Donate if you wish or leave a comment anywhere and I’ll share my full collection with you for free. About 1.7 TB at the moment and growing every day. No lie.
Donate $25 or more and I’ll share my arthouse, gay porn, and wrestling collections with you, as well.
THIS WEEK’S FREE STREAMER: Hard
Director John Huckert‘s Hard is so obscure, it doesn’t even have a Wikipedia entry.
I’ve collected some links here on Raindrop.io.
Serial killers always get inordinate amounts of attention from the MSM, and but somehow less approbation if they’re gay. If they’re killing gays… well, that’s another story.
The execution of this serial killer/cop procedural/coming out story is so amateurish and provided so many ironic laughs that for the first 30 minutes I thought I was getting camp. But then as the story cemented and the ideas coalesced, I realized it was more a Larry Cohen movie from the seventies than a John Waters one: in the taut screenplay; the brutal, gory, and explicit shots of murders; and the serious attention given to the similar psychologies of cop and killer. That doesn’t mean I never laughed again, but it did mean I paid a lot more attention. (There’s also a real gay hardon.)Rick Powell, Letterboxd
That might not sound like a recommendation, but it is.
Before Hard, Huckert wrote, directed, and produced a horror film called The Passing. I’m trying to snag that via torrent right now. Hard can’t be found anywhere other than a low-quality rip on YouTube.
This is the unrated director’s cut.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
