La Noche, narrates the sexual adventures of a man who navigates the prostitution underworld of Buenos Aires.

I’ve been trying for 3 nonconsecutive days to plow my way through Castro’s 2.5 hour La Noche. It may be my mood at the moment, or it may be that the film’s unremitting look at loneliness and the main character’s incessant search for connections via sex and mood-altering substances just strikes a little too close to home.

This is an intelligent review, if short on shot analysis and with an unexamined use of the word, hyper-realistic, and it’s encouraged me not to give up on the La Noche, if not la noche.
